Museums on Us
Bank of America is offering cardholders free general admission Saturday and Sunday to cultural institutions across the United States, including two in Little Rock: the Clinton Presidential Center, 1200 President Clinton Ave., and the Museum of Discovery, 500 President Clinton Ave. Museums on Us is available to Bank of America, Merrill or Bank of America Private Bank credit or debit cardholders during the first full weekend of every month. Arts Across Arkansas
The Arkansas Arts Council is taking nominations for its 2026 Arts Across Arkansas youth mentorship and recognition program through Monday. Eligible categories include music composition, dance choreography, literary arts, visual arts, photography and film, with cash prizes in each medium. Students must be enrolled in an Arkansas high school and educators may nominate multiple students. The students who are selected will be honored at the spring state finals ceremony. Public programs for the first part of 2026 at the Clinton Presidential Center, 1200 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock:
◼️ Jan. 31, 3 p.m., Cornel West, democratic socialist philosopher in the progressive Christian tradition, according to a news release, and Robert P. George, a Roman Catholic and a conservative legal scholar, will jointly present a Kumpuris Distinguished Lecture.
◼️ Feb. 11, 6 p.m., “Off the Record: Stories from the White House with Jennifer Palmieri.” Palmieri, a former White House communications director and bestselling author, TV host and producer, podcast host and political strategist, will share her experiences serving in a presidential administration, campaigns “and more.”
◼️ Feb. 17, 6 p.m., “‘Rocco Keeps the Beat’ with Rocco and Arioth Smirne.” Ten-year-old Rocco Smirne, author of “Rocco Keeps the Beat! Music at the White House,” and his mother, Arioth, share how music has shaped traditions at the White House.
◼️ March 12, 6 p.m., marking Women’s History Month: “Bold Women, Bold Moves,” in partnership with the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and Ballet Arkansas. The program will feature a conversation between the women who lead the Central Arkansas arts and culture organizations, including Stephanie S. Streett, Victoria Ramirez, Christina Littlejohn and Catherine Fothergill.
◼️ April 15, 6 p.m., “Founding Friends, Founding Foes: Adams and Jefferson.” Kurt Graham of the Adams Presidential Center will discuss the complicated relationship between Founding Fathers John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, allies in 1776 who became bitter political rivals and, in retirement, friends again.
◼️ April 28, 6 p.m., “A Conversation with Susan Page.” Page, a veteran political reporter, will discuss her new book, “The Queen and Her Presidents: The Hidden Hand That Shaped History,” chronicling the diplomatic relationships and interactions between Queen Elizabeth II and the 13 American presidents who served during her reign, including President Bill Clinton.
◼️ May 20, 6 p.m., two-time James Beard award winner Adrian Miller and culinary author Deborah Chang will discuss their book, “Asian Heritage Chefs in White House History: Cooking to the President’s Taste,” the first history of the many Asian Heritage chefs who have prepared meals for U.S. presidents, paired with 60 recipes that can be made in a 21st-century home kitchen.

Weekend ‘Nuts’
The Weekend Theater, 1001 W. Seventh St. at Chester Street, will hold open-call auditions at 10 a.m. Jan. 10 and 6 p.m. Jan. 11 for “Nuts” by Tom Topor.
The play involves a high-class call girl indicted for manslaughter after killing a client in self-defense whose parents and the state attempt to have her declared mentally incompetent in order to prevent a trial.
A full character breakdown and an audition form are available at weekendtheater.org/auditions; characters are all age 30 to 60-plus, “and we will be seeking actors to realistically portray these age ranges, including as parents of an adult child,” according to a news release. Production dates are March 6-22.
