The touring Broadway musical “Suffs” will be at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia starting Tuesday and continuing through Jan. 18.  The show tells the story of the brilliant, passionate and funny American women who fought tirelessly for the right to vote. Created by Shaina Taub, the first woman to independently win Tony Awards for Best Book and Best Score in the same season, this new musical explores the triumphs and failures of a struggle for equality that’s far from over. See ensembleartsphilly.org for tickets.

Three Kings Day

Ensemble Arts Philly will present its family-oriented celebration of Three Kings Day, or Dia de los Reyes Magos,” on Wednesday at the Kimmel Center’s Commonwealth Plaza, event held annually at the Kimmel Center in the month of January since 2014. Just as Santa Claus brings gifts in other cultures, the Wise Men or Reyes Magos bring presents to children in Mexico and other Latin American countries. During this event, children can write letters to the Three Kings, enjoy performances, break piñatas and much more. All attendees get to sample Rosca de Reyes bread and warm Mexican chocolate.
