On New Year’s Eve (31 December), PJ Harvey took to Instagram to share a playlist of music that she says she has found “inspiring and strengthening”. Reflecting on the end of touring her 2023 album I Inside the Old Year Dying through Australia and Japan back in March, she notes that she has since been writing music for her upcoming album and poems for her upcoming book, both of which are yet to be announced.
“2025 saw the end of the ‘l Inside the Old Year Dying’ tour in Australia and Japan in March. The two-year tour was such a wonderful experience to have been a part of, and I hugely enjoyed being able bring the music to life in a shared experience,” the post reads.
“Since then I have been writing songs for my next album and poems for my next book, which is a process that always surprises and challenges me, but one I realise I am committed to and love.”
