A NON-PROFIT that is dedicated to providing inclusive play environments and entertainment has enjoyed great success in 2025, including becoming an award-winning organisation.

Stourbridge-based Creative Active Lives CIC received the Excellent in Youth Impact Award at the Social Economy Awards for its “unique hybrid online and in-person inclusive play services reaching thousands of young people”.

The organisation is dedicated to helping improve the quality of life for older adults, disadvantaged young people, people with additional needs and people who are new to the country through a range of activities from dance classes and circus skills workshops to craft classes, live performances, and so much more.

Held in Birmingham in November, the brains behind the business, Rachel Conlisk, picked up the award, which made up only a fraction of the organisation’s success last year.

On top of the win, Creative Active Lives CIC has been awarded £15,000 from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund to create a vibrant new community space in the heart of Halesowen.

The funding enabled the opening on November 8 of the Halesowen Community Space – a welcoming venue for families, young people, and adults to connect, create, and look after their wellbeing through a range of inclusive sessions and activities, supported with a venue by Centric Community Projects and the Cornbow Centre.

The new space is a joint project between Creative Active Lives CIC (DigiTribe), La Luz Life Coach & Wellbeing Services and Active Bodies 4 Focused Minds, three local social enterprises working together to improve wellbeing and build community connections.

Reflecting on her success, Ms Conlisk said: “At Creative Active Lives we wanted to create a space where everyone feels they belong – where families, home educators, and neurodivergent young people can connect, learn and thrive together through self-directed learning and social activities.

“We also wanted to work with other social enterprises to be able to support the wider Halesowen community.

“There’s nothing else quite like it locally, and we’re proud to bring this to Halesowen.”
