The Sandringham estate has warned visitors that some facilities may shut early on Monday owing to deteriorating weather conditions in Norfolk.
The royal residence posted a notice on Instagram confirming that the children’s play area has been closed until further notice, whilst the Courtyard amenities could face an early shutdown.
“Due to the current weather conditions, we may close the Courtyard facilities early today,” the estate stated, adding: “We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.”
Although Sandringham House and its gardens remain closed to the public, the 20,000-acre parkland, including the café and shop, typically welcomes visitors throughout the year.

The closure comes as the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning covering eastern coastal regions of England and Scotland.
Forecasters have cautioned that scattered snow showers combined with icy patches could disrupt travel from Monday through to Tuesday morning.
Norfolk, where the Sandringham estate sits near the coastline, falls within the affected zone.
The warning applies to a broad stretch of the east coast, with motorists and travellers advised to take care on roads that may become treacherous overnight.

King Charles appears set for a particularly cold spell at his Norfolk retreat as temperatures drop across the region.
The King and Queen made their first public outing of 2026 on Sunday, attending a service at St Mary Magdalene Church on the estate despite the bitter January cold.
Charles, 76, wrapped up in a brown wool coat with thick gloves, whilst Camilla, 78, opted for a cream jacket paired with a faux-fur hat and fur-trimmed gloves.
The couple took time to meet local residents who had gathered outside the church before and after the service.
