Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s beloved family member had a surprise cameo during their latest appearance this week.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a video appearance at Oprah Winfrey’s event to mark the launch of a new book aimed at helping young people live a more offline life. The event was hosted by US TV presenter Gayle King.
During the video call, the Sussexes’ black Labrador, Pula, was seen entering the room before exiting a few moments later to play in the garden. When Ms King spotted the dog exiting the room, she told the couple: “I see the dog behind.”Nah
Meghan, who was watching over her dog, turned to the camera before Harry said, “She’s literally been sitting next to us, chewing a stick.”
Pula is not the only dog the Sussexes own. They are also dog parents to Mia, a rescue beagle, and previously owned Guy, another rescue beagle who passed away last year.
The Sussex couple, who are big advocates for children spending more time away from smartphones, discussed the importance of such a book with authors Jonathan Haidt and Catherine Price.
In the video, Prince Harry said: “Over the years, we’ve worked with you on how the digital spaces are deeply affecting our collective mental, emotional and physical health.
“And obviously, a huge congratulations to you and the outcome of your researc,h which has created a parent-led movement which is astonishing and much-needed.”
Meghan added: “And that we’re proud to be a part of.”
This marks Harry and Meghan’s first appearance of 2026.
The couple spent a quiet Christmas with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in Montecito, California.
