MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Stax Museum of American Soul Music and Stax Music Academy are hosting two free events this January, providing local families and young musicians the opportunity to engage in music activities.
The January Family Day is set for Jan. 10, 2024, from 1 to 4 PM at the Stax Museum, offering free admission for families.
On Jan. 23, 2024, a panel titled “So You Want to Be a Music Director?” will take place at the Stax Music Academy from 5:30 to 7 PM, targeting students in grades six through twelve.
The January Family Day at the Stax Museum will feature activities suitable for children and adults of all ages. Attendees can enjoy live music, exhibits and various fun-filled activities designed to highlight American soul music.
The “So You Want to Be a Music Director?” panel will provide valuable insights for aspiring musicians. This interactive workshop will explore the roles and responsibilities of a music director, aiming to guide young students on their path toward musical leadership.
The Stax Museum and Stax Music Academy encourage community participation in these free events as a way to celebrate the new year with music and learning opportunities.
