Glen Powell warned viewers on the red carpet of the 2026 Golden Globes that if they see him acting a bit off, they can blame Chad Powers.
“I gotta say, all the football guys – I was down there, I took some hits yesterday,” Powell told Variety while working the press line ahead of the big ceremony. “If I’m walking a little weird today, it’s because I’m in a little bit of pain.”
Whatever degree of pain Powell was feeling, he smiled through it. The Anyone But You star enthused about production of the Hulu sports comedy series’ second season, which commenced this month.
“The football is great. We’re leveling up on the football, were leveling up on every part of the fish,” he said, a reference to the Georgia football team at series’ center’s mascot – catfish. “I’m just really excited for what this season has in store.”
Powell elaborated that, in a phrase, Chad Powers season 2 could be described: “Some people just want to watch the world burn. I think the fun part is [season 1] ended on a darker note, and that’s what season 2 is definitely going to represent. It’s really the chaos that Russ Holliday is bringing on the world. It’s all coming crashing down in the best way.”

“America has to vote, that’s a democracy that we live in, and once the people vote, then they determine our fate,” Powell told Entertainment Weekly in September, ahead of the series premiere. “But at the same time, I feel very confident that people are going to really respond to the show.”
The people did speak, and they spoke highly enough of Chad Powers for Hulu to renew the series for a second season in December.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association also spoke in favor of Glen Powell, when the voting body of the Golden Globes handed him a nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series.
Powell may land one of the most important touchdowns of his life on Sunday, if he can beat the likes of Adam Brody, Steve Martin, Seth Rogen, Martin Short, and awards juggernaut Jeremy Allen White.
