CINCINNATI (Cincinnati Business Courier) – Jeff Ruby Culinary Entertainment has agreed to pay more than $1.5 million to settle a federal class action labor lawsuit brought on by two former employees.
The litigation surrounds alleged underpayment of tipped employees, which the Cincinnati-based restaurant group has denied.
According to the class action settlement agreement made public late last month, the company did not admit any wrongdoing, and has agreed to settle “solely for the purpose of avoiding further expense, inconvenience and distraction of burdensome and protracted litigation.”
