Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi’s Haq continued to receive strong appreciation after its OTT release, and the latest to praise the film was Aditi Rao Hydari. The actor shared a glowing review on social media, calling Haq a deeply moving and unforgettable cinematic experience, adding to the growing list of celebrities applauding the film.
Aditi shared a review of the film on Instagram Stories and wrote, “It’s been a week since I watched Haq And I haven’t stopped thinking about it. A film so beautifully crafted, directed, acted, written. An important story, told with dignity, vulnerability, strength, grace and rage all at once. It felt so real, so layered. Director Suparn Varma also spoke about the overwhelming response the film has received since its digital release. In an interaction with the Free Press Journal, he said, “I knew that once it reaches OTT, it’s going to be the next big jump for Haq. But the response from the audience has been just I mean, sometimes you expect a tsunami, but you don’t realise how big a tsunami it’s going to be! I’ve had people calling from Nigeria and Canada, and it’s trending as the number 1 movie across the Arab countries and all our neighbours, like Sri Lanka and Nepal, everywhere. Every single day I’m getting around 200 messages, calls and DMs, so it’s just been crazy. And this morning (Sunday), you wake up to Alia Bhatt having watched the film and loving it.”
Alia Bhatt recently praised Yami Gautam’s performance in Haq. Sharing a still of the actor from the film on her Instagram Stories, Alia penned an emotional note calling her a “queen” and applauding her craft. She wrote, “Queen Yami you are pure craft, heart and all things gold in Haq. One of my top female performances of all time As I mentioned over the phone too am a Yami fan waiting eagerly for all your work to once again charm and entertain us all.”
Earlier, several celebrities, including Farah Khan, had also praised Yami’s performance, with Farah even stating that the actor deserves an award for her role.
Haq is based on an original story and revolves around Shazia (Yami Gautam Dhar), a woman married to a wealthy lawyer, Abbas Khan (Emraan Hashmi). When Abbas unexpectedly brings home a second wife and ends his marriage with Shazia through triple talaq, the film follows her emotional and legal battle to defend her rights. Sheeba Chaddha and Vartika Singh also play key roles in the film. Haq was released theatrically in November 2025 and has recently found a wider audience following its OTT release.
