The English rock group was due to play four shows in February until Muse announced on Wednesday that they “will be unable to proceed,” a statement on the band’s Instagram Story stated.

“This has been a very difficult decision and one we did not take lightly,” Muse wrote. “We’re truly sorry to everyone who purchased tickets and appreciate your understanding.”

The band added that refunds will be available wherever people purchased their tickets.

“We hope to be back with you again very soon,” the band concluded.

Muse was set to play the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on Feb. 4, Johannesburg in South Africa on Feb. 7, Cape Town on Feb. 11 and Bengaluru in India, on Feb. 14. The band also has a performance scheduled for Milwaukee Summerfest on July 2.

Last year, Muse embarked on a European tour that included a show at Madrid’s Mad Cool Festival, which saw the band step in for Kings Of Leon, NME reported. The news outlet noted that Muse is currently working on their 10th studio album, which would be their first since 2022’s “Will Of The People.” The group shared the first teaser from the new record on June 18, 2025, but has yet to release more music.

Bassist Chris Wolstenholme revealed on “The Leona Graham Podcast” in February 2025 that the band was planning to work on new material the following year.

“I don’t think the idea is to do anything really serious until next year, so I would imagine that 2026 will be a new album, barring any disasters,” Wolstenholme said.

Muse is a Grammy Award-winning band known for combining “sci-fi and conspiracy-theory themes with anthems of love and heartbreak,” according to AllMusic. Some of the band’s biggest hits include “Supermassive Black Hole,” “Starlight,” “Uprising” and “Madness.” Overall, Muse has sold an more than 30 million records worldwide.
