NeNe Leakes is returning to Bravo, six years after stepping away from “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” but not in the way many fans might expect, Us Weekly reports.
The 58-year-old reality television star will appear in “The Real Housewives: Ultimate Road Trip,” a new spinoff series announced by Andy Cohen at 2025 BravoCon. According to TMZ, Leakes will not be joining as a full-time cast member but is expected to have a “notable presence” during the show’s Georgia segment.
The spinoff builds on the format of “The Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip,” which launched in 2021, Us Weekly noted. The new series will feature Housewives from various franchises traveling to different cities across the country, where they will connect with past and present cast members from those locations.
“We will have iconic Housewives taking the road trip of a lifetime to the Housewives’ cities where they will be joined by iconic Housewives past and present from the span of two decades,” Cohen said during an event in November.
Frances Berwick, chairman of Bravo and Peacock Unscripted, described the series as a celebration marking the franchise’s 20-year milestone.
“For two decades, The Real Housewives has amplified women’s voices, spotlighted their ambition, humor, and strength, inspiring millions with their unapologetic authenticity,” Berwick said in a statement.
Leakes last appeared on season 12 of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” in 2020. An original cast member when the show premiered in 2008, she had publicly addressed the possibility of returning multiple times in 2025.
Last year, she told TMZ she would consider returning “if the opportunity was right and the check was on point.” By July, her position had shifted. During a podcast appearance, she said any return would need to be as a full-time cast member, according to Us Weekly.
