Twenty One Pilots have shared the epic trailer for their forthcoming concert film More Than We Ever Imagined.

The Grammy Award-winning duo, formed of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, announced last week that they were going to be sharing the new movie in cinemas next month.

Released in collaboration with Trafalgar Releasing, the project will contain footage of their career-defining show in Mexico City during ‘The Clancy World Tour’, which saw them perform to 65,000 fans.

As well as epic footage of them on-stage, the movie will also chronicle them as they touch down in the city, help set up the huge stage, and mentally prepare for one of the biggest shows of their career.

Today (Thursday January 15), the first trailer of the film has been officially released, and it shows the band explaining what the show means to them, and how they actually find it less daunting than some of their early gigs.

“That part never gets old, pulling up to a venue and seeing people going to the show,” Joseph is heard saying. “Playing in front of 10 people is more nerve-wracking than 60,000… [but] being surrounded by that many people while playing the piano, it’s the closest I get to remembering why I fell in love with music.”

Also in the clip, footage of the huge crowd at the stadium is intertwined with footage of the duo backstage, with Dun sharing that they are “always talking about ways to enhance the show.”

“We’ve always liked to put ourselves in situations that we don’t know if it’s going to work out or not live. That’s one thing that we really pride ourselves on,” he shares, while Joseph adds: “We like to tell ourselves that we saw this happening, but if I’m being honest, I think that my goal was probably like 1,000 people.

“They’re giving me a license to perform the way that I want, and become who I want to be on the stage.”

The film arrives at IMAX and cinemas worldwide on February 26 for a limited time, and exclusive IMAX previews start from February 25. Tickets are on sale now and available here.

Twenty One Pilots’ dropped their latest album ‘Breach’ in September, and that was the follow-up to 2024’s ‘Clancy’, which led to ‘The Clancy World Tour’.

In a three-star review of the ‘Clancy’ album, NME described it as a record that “fares better when it shoots for genuine experimentation, like on the weird, spacey ‘Lavish’”.

“Otherwise, ‘Clancy’ is more often than not the sound of a band spinning their wheels, caught in a strange space where their colourful conceptual ideas are being painted from a beige musical palette,” it added.

As well as the concert film, Twenty One Pilots are also gearing up to make their debut at London’s Victoria Park, as headliners for All Points East 2026. You can find any remaining tickets to that gig – which is their only UK concert of the year – here.

Outside of the UK, Twenty One Pilots are also set to headline Electric Castle 2026 alongside The Cure, and make stops at Sziget, Mad Cool and more.

Back in 2021, the band spoke to NME for The Cover around the release of their sixth album ‘Scaled & Icy’, and revealed that the record saw them lean into a new sense of optimism after the pandemic.

“I knew the record could go one of two ways,” Joseph said. “We could directly respond to what was going on in the world, or we could lean into this idea of escaping and almost looking at everything from a different dimension. A dimension that’s more colourful, that’s got a little more positivity to it.”

“That felt more exciting to me, to come down into this studio where I felt like the walls of the place that I was creating were impenetrable,” he added. “It’s intentionally disconnected from the time in which it was created.”
