Nickelodeon ‘All That’ child star dead at 33 after Brooklyn hit-and-run accident

Kianna Underwood, a former child star who delighted audiences on the Nickelodeon sketch show All That throughout the 00s has tragically died at the age of 33.

The actress was sadly killed after being struck in a hit-and-run incident in the Brownville section of Brooklyn shortly before 7am on Friday January 16.

The New York Police Department confirmed the news of the incident to Page Six, with officers responding to a 911 call at around 6:49am

According to a statement from the Deputy Commissioner of Public Information, a preliminary investigation found that a gray sedan was heading westbound when it hit an unidentified female.

Underwood is believed to have been dragged for multiple blocks, as she had been lodged beneath the vehicle after being hit.

“A preliminary investigation determined a gray vehicle was traveling westbound and struck an unidentified female,” their statement read, confirming that she had ‘sustained severe trauma to the head and body.’

Emergency services rushed to the scene, but the victim was sadly pronounced dead upon arrival.

The Deputy Commissioner also confirmed that the driver of the vehicle had failed to stop, adding that they ‘did not remain on scene.’

So far, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident and an investigation remains ongoing.

Underwood, a proud New Yorker born and bred, first began her acting career at age the age of 7, but it was her success in All That, that propelled her to stardom.

The iconic comedy sketch show was a staple of many kid’s childhoods, with stars such as Amanda Bynes, Kenan Thompson, Kel Mitchell, Nick Cannon and Jamie Lynn Spears finding great success on the show.

Underwood joined the cast in 2005, for the 10^th series of the sketch show and the final series of the show’s original run, before it went on hiatus until 2019.

She also notably lent her voice to the Nick Jr animated series, Little Bill where she played the character of Fuchsia Glover for 23 episodes between 1999 and 2004.

The animated children’s show was created by Bill Cosby and followed the adventures of 5-year-old Bill Glover, played by Xavier Pritchett, as he navigated everyday life in Philadelphia.

In addition to her TV success, Underwood also crafted a name for herself on Broadway, when she starred for over a year in the first national tour of Hairspray playing Little Inez.

After reaching adulthood, Underwood stepped away from the spotlight to enjoy a quiet private life in New York City.
