If you’re looking to go out on New Year’s Eve, there are a variety of ways to say goodbye to 2025 and welcome 2026 in Utah.

The guest list can be all-ages, or 21 and up. And the dress code may require formal attire, ski boots or your dancing shoes.

Here’s a rundown of New Year’s Eve events across Utah, as well as restaurants offering special menus to ring in the new year.

New Year’s Eve events

Ball Drop 2026 • 801 Convention Center, 1055 W. North Temple, Salt Lake City • This event (for anyone 18 and older) promises four DJs, confetti, a balloon drop, a laser show, a mechanical bull, giveaways and more. The event on Wednesday, Dec. 31, runs from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m., across the street from the Utah State Fairpark. Tickets are $20, or $50 for VIP tickets, at thepartytix.ticketsauce.com.

Last Hurrah 2025! • The Gateway, 50 S. Rio Grande St., Salt Lake City, atthegateway.com • Buskers, pop-up bars, live performances, a game room and a vendor village are included in what’s billed as “Utah’s biggest free New Year’s Eve celebration,” from 8 p.m. to midnight on Wednesday, Dec. 31. DJ Bangarang leads the countdown to the midnight fireworks. Free to attend, though drinks will be available for purchase (draft beer, wine, warm cocktails and hot chocolate) in the main plaza. Some Gateway merchants will be open late, too.

New Year’s Eve at Canyons Village • Canyons Village, Park City Mountain Resort, 4000 Canyons Resort Drive, Park City; ParkCityMountain.com • Live music, family-friendly activities and a fireworks show over the village. Events start Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 2:30 p.m., closing with fireworks at 7:30 p.m. Free to attend.

NYE 2024 Masquerade • Marriott City Creek, 75 S. West Temple, Salt Lake City • The 16th annual event, Wednesday, Dec. 31, with dinner at 6 p.m. and a reception at 9 p.m., features live entertainment, dancing, giveaways, cash bars and $5 champagne glasses. (Must be 21 or older; attire is “after five, cocktail or formal.”) Tickets are $65 for the reception, or $155 for dinner and the reception, available at bigeasyentertainment.com.

Out Late • Millcreek Common, 1354 E. Chambers Ave., Millcreek • Live music by SENXAO, a variety of activities, and fireworks at midnight. Wednesday, Dec. 31, 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Tickets are $25, available online at MillcreekCommon.org.

All-ages events, well before midnight

Alphorn Concert • Solitude Village, Solitude Mountain Resort, 12000 Big Cottonwood Canyon Rd., Solitude; solitudemountain.com • Salzburger Echo performs on their 12-foot alpenhorns in an outdoor concert, Wednesday, Dec. 31, 3 to 4 p.m. Free to attend.

Early Eve • Millcreek Common, 1354 E. Chambers Ave., Millcreek • Live music, games, food trucks, an arcade and a dance party, Wednesday, Dec. 31, from 4 p.m. to a “countdown” at 8 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person, at MillcreekCommon.org.

“The Empire Strikes Back” in concert • Utah Symphony, Abravanel Hall, 123 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City; utahsymphony.org • The symphony plays John Williams’ score to a screening of the 1980 sequel to “Star Wars.” Tuesday, Dec. 30, at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 2 p.m., and Jan. 2 and 3 at 7 p.m. Tickets at utahsymphony.org.

New Year’s Eve at Canyons Village • Canyons Village, Park City Mountain Resort, 4000 Canyons Resort Drive, Park City; ParkCityMountain.com • An afternoon event for all ages on Tuesday, Dec. 31. A DJ at Après at the Airstream plays from 2 to 4 p.m.; local band RATS performs from 4 to 7 p.m. on the Canyons Stage; and fireworks at 7:30 p.m. Free to attend.

Noon Year’s Eve • Loveland Living Planet Aquarium, 12033 Lone Peak Parkway, Draper • For kids who won’t stay awake until midnight, the aquarium offers two confetti countdowns in the lobby on Wednesday, Dec. 31. The event runs from noon to 3 p.m. The event is included with general admission.

Paintbox New Year’s Eve Extravaganza • Montage Deer Valley, 9100 Marsac Ave., Park City; montage.com • Children can take part in karaoke, crafts and movies, ahead of a midnight balloon drop, Wednesday, Dec. 31, 6 p.m. to midnight. Price: $175 per child.

Torchlight Parade • Deer Valley, 2250 Deer Valley Dr. South, Park City; DeerValley.com • The annual parade runs along Deer Valley’s Big Stick run on Bald Eagle Mountain behind Snow Park Lodge. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.. Free to attend.

Torchlight Parade and Fireworks • Snowbird, 9385 S. Snowbird Center Dr., Snowbird; snowbird.com • Hang out on the Plaza Deck and watch the torchlight parade, followed by fireworks. Fire pits and hot chocolate available. Wednesday, Dec. 31, 6 p.m. Free to attend.

Torchlight Parade and Fireworks Show • Solitude Mountain Resort, 12000 Big Cottonwood Canyon, Solitude; solitude.com • Parade and fireworks outside the Last Chance Lodge at Solitude, Wednesday, Dec. 31, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Free admission.

Torchlight Parade • Powder Mountain, Ogden Canyon; powdermountain.com • Two parades, one for adults and a kid-friendly LED-powered torchlight parade, open to kids 5 to 17 and their parents. Wednesday, Dec. 31, starts at 6 p.m. Registration recommended; first 100 participants for the adults’ parade and first 50 for the kids’ parade; intermediate and advanced riders only. Lift ticket, for $10, required, with proceeds going to Community Foundation of Ogden Valley.

Utah Jazz vs. Boston Celtics • Delta Center, 301 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City; utahjazz.com • The Jazz take on the Celtics, Tuesday, Dec. 30, game starts at 7 p.m. Tickets, starting at $52, at seatgeek.com.

Nightclubs and music venues

The Commonwealth Room • 195 W. Commonwealth Ave., South Salt Lake • Utah bluegrass band Pixie and the PartyGrass Boys will headline on Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 30 and 31. Opening acts: The J-Rad Cooley Band on Tuesday, Lapdog on Wednesday. Doors open at 8 p.m.. Tickets, for $35 and up, available at thestateroompresents.com.

The Complex • 536 W. 100 South, Salt Lake City • SLC NYE, a two-night EDM event (for 18 and older), happens in two of The Complex’s venues, The Grand and Rockwell, on Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 30 and 31.
