Kaci Kranson had 18 points and 13 rebounds, her first double-double of the season, to lead No. 2 University of Scranton to a 71-41 win over Catholic in a Landmark Conference women’s basketball game Saturday at the John Long Center.
The win was coach Ben O’Brien’s 100th in his career. The former Dunmore coach is 100-6 with the Lady Royals.
Katie Gorski had 13 points, Meghan Lamanna had 12 points, Dunmore graduate Sophia Talutto had 10 points and Western Wayne grad Kaeli Romanowski had seven rebounds, six steals, five assists and four points for Scranton (15-0 overall, 8-0 Landmark).
The Lady Royals visit Wilkes on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
Lackawanna 67, Baltimore City CC 28: At Lackawanna College Student Union, Canyah Randle had 13 points and Sophia Summa had 12 points to lead the Falcons to a non-region win.
Ali Johns, Alania Ortiz and Jasmin Romano each added 11 points for Lackawanna.
Saint Elizabeth 58, Marywood 53: At Insalaco Arena, Anyah Ortiz had 13 points and 14 rebounds in Marywood’s first Atlantic East Conference loss.
Megan Cavoli added 12 points for the Pacers.
Gallaudet 50, Keystone 41: At Gambal Athletic Center, Hailee Hackett and Angelise Sanchez each scored nine points in Keystone’s United East Conference loss.
Men’s basketball
Brendan Carr had 20 points, as the University of Scranton men’s basketball team rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit to beat No. 23 Catholic, 71-68, in a Landmark Conference game.
Jon Spatola had 17 points, and Sammy Tornabene added 11 points, as the Royals (14-1, 7-1) extended their win streak to 11.
Scranton visits Wilkes on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Marywood 88, Saint Elizabeth 72: At Insalaco Arena, Michel Loftin had 25 points, six rebounds and six assists to lead the Pacers to an Atlantic East Conference win.
Joe Macciocco had 15 points, Andrew Quinn added 12 points and Collin Himmelberg chipped in 10 points for Marywood.
Keystone 109, Gallaudet 69: At Gambal Athletic Center, Scranton grad PJ Murphy had 28 points to lead Keystone to a United East Conference victory.
Jden Golding added 16 points, nine assists and eight rebounds, and Ahmodrion Jones chipped in 13 points for the Giants.
Lackawanna 81, Baltimore City CC 67: At Lackawanna College Student Union, Jaksa Pejovic had 13 points and eight rebounds to lead the Falcons to a non-region win.
Jahsan Simms had 13 points and Noah Elias and Petar Perunicic each added 10 points for Lackawanna.
