Two members of the classic rock band Heart bring the group’s music to the Gallo Center with their band Heart By Heart. There are plenty of other entertainment options across the Modesto region planned for Jan. 24-30.

Heart tribute

Steve Fossen and Michael Derosier, bassist and drummer for the band Heart during the 1970s and early 1980s, now tour as Heart By Heart and will pull into the Gallo Center. “Our mission is to perform the classic Heart music as faithfully as we can,” Fossen is quoted on the center’s website. The band also includes vocalist Somar Macek, guitarist/keyboardist/vocalist Lizzy Daymont and guitarist Chad Quist. Heart By Heart’s show includes Heart hits and deep album cuts.

Ailey II

Ailey II – The Next Generation of Dance brings its production to the Gallo Center. For more than 50 years, the troupe “has merged the spirit and energy of the country’s finest early-career dance talent with the passion and creative vision of today’s most outstanding and emerging choreographers,” the center’s website says. The company was founded by Alvin Ailey in 1974.

Ace Frehley tribute

The State Theatre brings “A Larger-Than-Life Tribute to the Legend: Ace Frehley featuring KISS Revisited” to its stage. “This is a show built for true fans — an Ace-heavy set packed with soaring solos, cosmic grooves and the signature tone that made “The Spaceman” one of rock’s most iconic guitarists,” according to the theater’s website.

Modesto Film Society

“Wings” is the next selection for screening by the Modesto Film Society at the State Theatre. The 1927 movie is the story of two men, one rich and one middle class, who are best friends in love with the same woman. They become U.S. Air Corps fighter pilots, but their love for the girl threatens the friendship.

K-POP

The K-POP STARS LIVE SHOW at Turlock Community Theatre is a tribute to the global K-Pop movement. The show features music inspired by BTS, Blackpink and Huntrix & Saja Boys (“K-Pop Demon Hunters”), brought to life through choreography, costumes and special effects.

“From Water Woes to Smoky Air: Climate Change and the Central Valley” is the next presentation by Modesto Area Partners in Science. Emily Williams from UC Merced leads the discussion on environmental changes in the Central Valley. Williams will explore how climate change contributed and present projections for what to expect over the next decades.
