Song for the Mute’s collaboration with adidas is always a keenly anticipated part of Paris Fashion Week. Since 2022, the Australian label and German sportswear brand have dropped a slew of reinterpreted fan favourites, like last year’s Taekwondo and Adizero PR. This year’s linkup might be their best yet, using the Samba and SL 72 Pro.
The highlight of the collection is the SL 72 Pro, a new take on the 1972 runner that’s now a favourite collaborative canvas. Three colourways have been crafted, all looking like deconstructed race-ready prototypes. Using the SL 72 as the base, Song for the Mute have added new mid-foot canvas touches alongside a fresh backtab. Down below is the most interesting feature – a Lightstrike midsole taken straight from the Evo SL. The second pair, also unveiled in three colourways, is the Samba. The front half of the model is pretty stock standard, but the back now boasts a deconstructed build that folds over. Both silhouettes rock Song for the Mute-branded tags, rounding out the collection.
