A recent Instagram photo involving Yungblud and Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann sparked swift backlash online, reigniting discussion around the 63-year-old’s past controversies.
Earlier this week, Lindemann shared a casual photo of himself standing alongside Yungblud, 28, outdoors in Perth.
“Absolute pleasure meeting @yungblud in Perth,” he captioned the post. “Have fun in Mumbai!”
The image itself is harmless, the comments quickly filled with fans urging Yungblud to address Lindemann’s history and distance himself from the interaction.
“This is f–king disappointing…” one Instagram user commented. Others were confused about by Yungblud fans were seemingly mad or disappointed by the post.
“Till ordered his assistant to bring young girls to his afters to drug them up and r4pe them,” another commenter claimed. “Many women came forward to talk about it. But case was dismissed because no DNA was found.”
Lindemann was previously the subject of widespread scrutiny following allegations tied to Rammstein’s after-parties and a fan area known as “Row Zero.” Multiple women accused the singer of inappropriate behavior, including claims involving drink spiking and sexual misconduct. Lindemann has consistently denied all allegations.
Moreover, Selby Lynn, a 24-year-old fan, who previously told the BBC she thought she’d been “propositioned for sex,” posted online: “I’d like to clarify again. Till did NOT touch me. He accepted I did not want to have sex with him. I never claimed he raped me.”
German prosecutors opened an investigation into the claims but ultimately dropped the case, citing insufficient evidence to proceed with charges. No criminal charges were filed against Lindemann, though the controversy significantly impacted public perception of the band and led to canceled appearances and internal reviews.
As criticism mounted following the photo, Yungblud addressed the situation directly in a voice message shared via his Instagram Channel.
“I had no idea,” Yungblud said. “I’m meeting lots of people every day without fully knowing who they are or what they’re about. And I can assure you, if I knew about any allegations, it would have been a completely different story.”
Yungblud said he would be more mindful moving forward, reiterating that his values remain unchanged.
