Former OVG EVP venue management international Rebecca Kane Burton has been hired by Superstruct Entertainment as chief operating officer.
Kane Burton has extensive experience in senior management positions across the live events industry, including VP & general manager of AEG’s The O2 arena, LW Theatres CEO, Sodexo Live! CEO and Alexandra Palace MD.
More recently, she was brought in to take over the opening of Oak View Group’s (OVG) Co-op Live arena (cap. 23,500) during a tumultuous time at the Manchester venue. She was promoted to the role of venue management EVP at OVG in October 2024.
Superstruct Entertainment CEO Alex Mahon, who joined the company last year, said, “I am so excited by the depth of experience that Rebecca brings having run such massive live venues. She has first class event management, partnership and F&B experience. She will be a fantastic addition to the Superstruct team”.
Superstruct, which was acquired by KKR in 2024 in a 1.3 billion deal, owns more than a dozen major UK music festivals, as part of a portfolio of more than 80 across 10 countries. Now the world’s second-largest festival promoter, Superstruct was launched by Creamfields festival (70,000) founder and former Live Nation exec James Barton and Roderik Schlosser in 2017. The latter was succeeded by Mahon. In December, Barton announced he was stepping down from his role as chairman.
