Despite Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s decision to leave The Firm in 2020, royal author Christopher Andersen believes the Duke of Sussex misses the monarchy’s traditions. “Does it pain Harry to be pointedly excluded from times when the royal family gets together, like Christmas at Sandringham? Of course it does,” he told Us Weekly.

The father of two was stripped of his honorary military titles after leaving England. “He’s all about structure, honor, and duty — things that are missing from his life in Montecito,” historian Marlene Koenig told the publication. “Harry’s life was far more structured in the U.K.; he had responsibilities and official events to attend.”
