SAN ANTONIO — Many local bars are joining the long-standing tradition of Cowboy Breakfast by opening up early on Friday with drink specials and free breakfast.
Cowboy Breakfast is a San Antonio tradition that kicks off the start of Rodeo season with a free community breakfast on the rodeo grounds. Hosted by the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, the Official Cowboy Breakfast returns Friday, January 30, from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Frost Bank Center.
After breakfast wraps up, the celebration continues across the city as dozens of bars open early for what has become an unofficial Cowboy Breakfast bar crawl, offering food, drink specials, and live music throughout the morning and afternoon.

5:00 a.m.
Following the Cowboy Breakfast at the Frost Bank Center, Southtown Tavern opens at 10 a.m., offering drink specials including $3.50 Bud Lights and $3 Rumple Mint shots to keep the Rodeo kickoff going.

Doors open at 7 a.m. for its annual Cowboy Breakfast celebration featuring live music throughout the day, free breakfast, shopping vendors, giveaways, and drink specials available all day.
Opening at 7 a.m., Doc Brown’s hosts its annual Cowboy Breakfast with free breakfast tacos, $3 drink specials, and live music starting at 8:30 a.m.

Bar 7 opens at 8 a.m. for its first annual Cowboy Breakfast, featuring free coffee, free tacos while supplies last, live music, and a Morgan Wallen tribute hour.

Doors open at 10 a.m. for the ninth annual Cowboy Brunch, featuring an all-day and all-night lineup of live country music, with menudo and chili available.
