The McKinney Community Development Corporation (MCDC) awarded $124,530 in Promotional and Community Event Grants to nonprofits and event organizers across the city. The funding will support a wide range of events aimed at promoting tourism, strengthening local businesses and enhancing McKinney’s cultural and civic life.

“These grants help nonprofits and event organizers boost the visibility of their events through advertising and marketing support,” said MCDC Board Chair George Fuller. “The result is they are able to expand their reach and impact — attracting residents and visitors to experience McKinney.”

Events And Organizations Receiving Funding

This round of grants supports everything from music festivals and performing arts to history programs and community traditions. Award recipients include:

  • The Heritage Guild of Collin County received $13,000 to support events at Chestnut Square, including weekly Farmers Markets, educational programs, Ghostly Hauntings, Crazy in May Quilt Exhibit, Salute to Veterans and Trolley Tours.
  • Art by Metta was awarded $5,000 for the 2026 Rhythm and Blues Festival, while ManeGait Therapeutic Horsemanship received $10,000 for the 2026 Country Fair and ManeGait LIVE.

  • Marching Music Made in McKinney was awarded $7,000 for the 2026 Drum Corps International Competition and Drumline Battle, and McKinney Main Street received $14,000 for the 2026 Arts in Bloom event.
  • 25 Revolutions was granted $7,500 to produce a promotional trailer supporting expanded distribution of the Texas Music Revolution 25-Year Documentary, which was filmed in and highlights McKinney.

“These events provide important support of our mission to partner in bringing community, cultural and economic development opportunities to McKinney,” Fuller said.

Supporting Quality Of Life And Economic Growth

The Promotional Grant Program supports MCDC’s mission to enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors while driving economic activity. Funding decisions were made following application reviews and presentations outlining each project’s goals and expected community impact.

The latest awards build on a broader slate of MCDC investments. In September 2025, the organization approved $10.6 million in project grants for community improvements. Earlier in the year, nearly $37 million was awarded to support local businesses, and in August, an additional $80,000 in promotional and community event grants was approved to encourage tourism and community engagement.
