Sabrina Carpenter paid homage to a fashion veteran on the 2026 Grammy Awards red carpet in Los Angeles on Sunday night, wearing a custom Valentino gown designed by Alessandro Michele and styled by Jared Ellner.

The 26-year-old award-winning pop star touched down in a full-length, embroidered gown, with a multi-tiered mesh skirt and a floral beaded bodice attached to a delicate shawl. The custom gown boasted bohemian undertones, with a ruffled train that pooled at her feet. Carpenter’s collaboration with the fashion house comes just a few weeks after the founding couturier, Valentino Garavani, whom John B. Fairchild once regarded as “The Chic,” died at age 93.
Partnering with Ellner, stylist to Rachel Sennott and Emma Chamberlain, has brought a renewed energy to Carpenter’s hyper-feminine aesthetic, on and off the stage. From vintage Victoria’s Secret to custom Ludovic de Saint Sernin, her wardrobe today mixes the old with the new, plus plenty of platforms. The singer’s style has become synonymous with sky-high boots, which she wore throughout her “Short n’ Sweet” tour, along with a kaleidoscope of bedazzled bodices.

For glam, the “Tears” singer put her penchant for blush blindness to bed, donning a soft, skin-first makeup aesthetic, likely imagined by Carolina Gonzalez, instead. Her cheeks were, of course, still tinted in a faint rosy hue, while her eyes were accentuated by white pencil in her waterline and a light layer of mascara on her lashes. Carpenter’s hair was just as effortless. Her messy mop of blond curls was tamed in a long, loose braid down her back; her bangs combed to the sides of her forehead. While she typically works with hair architect Evanie Frausto, it’s not clear whether the artist brought her Grammys hair to life. WWD has reached out for confirmation.

Carpenter received six nominations in her name at the 2026 Grammys — Best Music Video, Song of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, Album of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance and Record of the Year. At the 67th annual Grammys, the “Manchild” artist, a then first-time nominee, took home the awards for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance.
The 68th annual Grammy Awards, hosted by Trevor Noah for the sixth consecutive year, honor the best music and artists from 2025. Held at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on Sunday night, the 2026 Grammys feature performances by Lady Gaga, Addison Rae and Sabrina Carpenter, among others. Bad Bunny, Chappell Roan, Doechii and Billie Eilish are among the high-profile nominees for Record of the Year. The ceremony will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+ at 8 pm ET.
