Celebrities used the 2026 Grammys to take a stand. Several attendees, including Billie Eilish, Justin and Hailey Bieber, Kehlani, and Joni Mitchell, donned “ICE Out” pins to condemn the recent actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
Many used their speeches to make a statement, too. When Kehlani won the award for Best R&B Performance for “Folded,” she spoke about the power of community. “What I wanna make sure that I say is that everybody is so powerful in this room,” she said, per Billboard. “And together, we’re stronger in numbers to speak against all the injustice going on in the world right now. So instead of letting it be just a couple of you here and there, I hope everybody’s inspired to join together as a community of artists and speak out against what’s going on.”
And she wasn’t the only one to call out ICE during a speech. Bad Bunny did the same when he won Best Música Urbana Album for Debí Tirar Más Fotos. He began by saying “ICE Out,” and added, “We’re not savage, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens. We are humans and we are Americans….The hate gets more powerful with more hate. The only thing more powerful than hate is love. So, please, we need to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love.”
