Nicki Minaj Says Lizzo Has a ‘Weird Charge’ Amid Latest Tirade

Lizzo is the latest caught in Nicki Minaj’s crosshairs.

On Sunday night (Feb. 1), right after the Grammys, Minaj took to X to make some claims about Lizzo.

“Fat Lizzo lost 300 lbs just to sell 300 albums,” Minaj wrote. “So now she has loose skin AND a flop album, AND a weird charge. Sheesh.”

It’s unclear which album Nicki could be referencing, since Lizzo hasn’t released an official album since 2022’s Special. In 2025, Lizzo did release a mixtape, My Face Hurts from Smiling.

As for the “weird charge,” Minaj could be referencing the lawsuit in which three of Lizzo’s former dancers accused her of fat-shaming and sexual harassment, though the former part of the case was dismissed in December. The portion of the case involving harassment allegations is ongoing. The lawsuit is civil, and Lizzo hasn’t been hit with any criminal charges.

Minaj’s comments arrived after Trevor Noah joked about the rapper’s absence at the Grammys. “Nicki Minaj is not here,” he said. “She’s still at the White House with Donald Trump, discussing very important issues.”

She later responded to Trevor on X: “Trevor refuses to come out the closet when everyone in the industry knows his boyfriend. Allegedly,” alongside a photo of her wearing a MAGA-esque pink hat that said, “Nicki Was Right About Everything,” and photos of Jay-Z with Aaliyah and Beyoncé.

Minaj’s jabs might be connected to comments Lizzo made in December, following Minaj’s appearance at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest alongside Erika Kirk.

At the time, Lizzo said she “isn’t surprised” at Minaj’s newfound affinity for MAGA, and that fans should “not” be “surprised” when they see other celebrities follow suit.

“You’re about to see an influx of people who see that it is more profitable and more beneficial to join that side,” Lizzo said. “You’re going to see it. It already started, and it’s going to continue.

“This is Trump’s first year as president. We got three more years of people who are going to surprise you, and it’s going to hurt your feelings. It’s gonna disappoint you.” She continued, “There’s money behind everything. There are privileges behind every move that people in these positions make. And I’m not surprised.”
