It didn’t take long for Nicki Minaj to react to Trevor Noah’s Grammy Awards quip about her recent support of President Donald Trump.
Noah, who hosted Sunday’s ceremony, pointed out Minaj’s absence from the event during his opening monologue.
“She’s still at the White House with Donald Trump discussing very important issues,” the former “Daily Show” host quipped, adding that the president would likely brag about having a bigger “ass” than Minaj.
Not long after Noah’s monologue aired, Minaj fired back on X.
“Trevor refuses to come out the closet when everyone in the industry knows his boyfriend,” she wrote. “Allegedly.”
Minaj included a photo of herself wearing a hat with the slogan “Nicki was right about everything,” along with throwback images of rapper Jay-Z with his wife, Beyoncé, and late singer Aaliyah.

Minaj has received a total of 12 Grammy nominations over the course of her career, but she was not among this year’s nominees.
Though the rapper has been critical of Trump in the past, she’s fully embraced the president’s MAGA agenda in recent months. Last week, she declared herself Trump’s “No. 1 fan” while speaking at a Treasury Department summit. Days later, she turned up at the world premiere of “Melania: Twenty Days to History,” the controversial new documentary about first lady Melania Trump.
As evidenced by her jab at Noah, Minaj has also begun embracing homophobic language and terminology as part of her rightward shift. Last week, she used an anti-LGBTQ+ slur in reference to independent journalist Don Lemon, who has been reporting on protests over Trump’s crackdown on immigration in Minneapolis. The former celebrity.land host is gay and married to real estate agent Tim Malone.
Minaj, who has long enjoyed a large LGBTQ+ fanbase, nonetheless doubled down on the slur after being hit with criticism.
“I’m glad they’re angry. They’re about to get angrier,” she wrote on X.
