UK music maverick and author Dar.Ra, also known as Darragh J. Brady, is back with a new wave of creative output that reinforces his reputation as a fearless innovator in music and storytelling.
Active since the early 1990s, Dar.Ra has built a respected career defined by consistency, originality, and emotional depth. Known for early releases such as Reach Out and New Dawn, he has continued to evolve without chasing trends, focusing instead on meaningful expression and forward-thinking sound. His PRS catalogue now includes 179 registered songs, reflecting decades of creative growth and dedication to the craft.
In 2008, Dar.Ra released his first solo album under the moniker with Soul Hours, followed by a series of EPs, including Now Is Now and Dirty Lil Secrets. These releases received radio support in both the UK and the US, with placements in films such as Snakes on a Plane and ABC’s Beauty and the Briefcase, starring Hilary Duff.
The breakthrough album New Kind of Normal (2019) marked a major moment, gaining strong traction on American radio and music television. Its blend of rock and dance resonated deeply in the US, leading to further releases including Majestic Retrospectives Vol. 1 & 2, Ballads for the Downtrodden, and the distinctly British Kings and Serfs.
Beyond music, Darragh J. Brady is also a highly regarded author. His books Road Tales, The Night That Jimi Died, and the latest release Divine Spark have all received five-star reviews, offering inspiration, insight into the music industry, and practical guidance for personal growth.
Now, Dar.Ra is preparing to release a new album titled As Above So Below. The first single, Cure For Jealousy, is out now via Kusha Deep Records and Bandcamp. The track is a bold disco-rock production that explores emotional struggle, mental resilience, and personal conflict, accompanied by a cinematic visual release.
