Everybody get up! Season 2 of the rebooted Hollywood Squares is in full swing. A Scream reunion will be part of an upcoming episode as Drew Barrymore reunites with David Arquette.
The game show was revived by CBS in 2025, after two iterations of the show, the first in 1966 and then again in 1998. Here’s everything you need to know about Hollywood Squares Season 2, including when you can expect it to return, who will host, and who will appear.
What landed Hollywood Squares Season 2 renewal?
Hollywood Squares Season 1 was a ratings hit, with around 5.4 million viewers watching the show “live” on CBS every week.
“This season, our new and returning series continue to showcase CBS as the leader in launching and programming the biggest hits with mass appeal for broadcast and streaming viewers,” Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, said in a press release. “These returning shows represent a mix of long-standing hits and a new generation of fan favorites. In collaboration with our extraordinarily talented partners in front of and behind the camera, we look forward to delivering another successful season.”
When does Hollywood Squares Season 2 air?
Season 2 of Hollywood Squares returned on Wednesday, January 7 at 8/7c. The episodes will continue to air at that time until March 11, when it moves to 10:30 due to Survivor. However, starting January 28, Hollywood Squares gets pushed back to 9/8c until the 10:30/9:30c time change.
The game show will not air on February 24, due to a three-episode Survivor premiere.
What is Hollywood Squares about?

Hollywood Squares is a game show where two contestants compete in a game of tic-tac-toe to win cash and prizes. A celebrity will give an answer, and the contestant has to agree or disagree with them, and if they are right, they get that square. The first player to get a tic-tac-toe or five squares wins. Every episode, there is a secret square. If they are picked and the question is answered correctly, the contestant wins a trip.
Who stars in Hollywood Squares?
Former football player Nate Burleson will return as host. Drew Barrymore, who was the center square in most of the Season 1 episodes, is also returning. The celebrities change every episode, with a few recurring. This season will have over 70 celebrities trying to get contestants to win $25,000.
The celebrities in the first four episodes included Anthony Anderson, Glenn Close, Kat Dennings, Fortune Feimster, comedian Zarna Garg, Jay Mohr, Padma Lakshmi, Joel McHale, Ariana Debose, and Arsenio Hall.
Fan-favorite celebrities returned, including Whitney Cummings, Tiffany Haddish, Pete Holmes, Lil Rel Howery, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Leslie Jones, Jo Koy, Ross Mathews, Ms. Pat, and RuPaul.
The next three episodes featured Michelle Buteau, Ana Gasteyer, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Janelle James, Method Man, Bobby Moynihan, Tig Notaro, Paul Scheer, Ariana DeBose, Ron Funches, Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, Tiffany Haddish, Pete Holmes, Niecy Nash‑Betts, Ms. Pat, Jo Koy, and Boston Rob Mariano.
For the first February 22 episode, Arquette will be joined by Whitney Cummings, Mark Duplass, Tiffany Haddish, Pete Holmes, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Leslie Jones, and Thomas Lennon.
Directly after that, another episode will air with Whitney Cummings, Ariana Debose, Fortune Feimster, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Tiffany Haddish, Lil Rel Howery, Gabriel Iglesias, and Jo Koy.
As always, Barrymore remains the center square.
