Written by Janson alongside his other half, Kelly, and Pat Bunch and co-produced by Janson with Michael Wayne Wilkes, the song depicts the kind of woman that he can’t help but fall in love with, despite the fact that she’s nearly impossible to keep in one place.
Listeners are greeted with upbeat country-rock sound driven by electric guitars and a lively rhythm, giving it an infectious feel that matches the woman who lies at the center of the story. Speaking to the song’s personal connection to his real-life love story, Jansons shares, “’Easy to Love, Harder to Hold’ is about a free and charismatic girl living her best life! This is exactly how I felt the moment I met my wife, Kelly. We actually wrote this together with the late Pat Bunch.”
