Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts (Website) is introducing a new country music concert series, called Country at Dr. Phillips Center (Website). The series will bring established country artists to both Steinmetz Hall and the Walt Disney Theater, according to a press release issued earlier today, and the initial lineup includes Sawyer Brown, Sammy Kershaw, and Vince Gill.
The series begins March 7 with Sawyer Brown performing in Steinmetz Hall. The band won Star Search in the 1980s and has released more than 50 charting singles. Their best-known songs include “Some Girls Do,” “Thank God for You,” and “The Walk.” The group recently released Desperado Troubadours, its first new album in nearly 20 years.
Sammy Kershaw is scheduled to perform on April 16, also in Steinmetz Hall. Kershaw is known for hits like “She Don’t Know She’s Beautiful,” “Queen of My Doublewide Trailer,” and “Cadillac Style.”
The series continues June 18 with Vince Gill in the Walt Disney Theater. Gill is a 22-time Grammy Award winner and a member of both the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Musicians Hall of Fame.
Dr. Phillips Center is offering a 20 percent ticket discount for the Sawyer Brown and Sammy Kershaw concerts using promo code YEEHAW20 through February 13. The discount applies to up to eight tickets and is subject to availability.
