Strictly Come Dancing star shares baby announcement ‘couldn’t ask for anything more’

One of the stars of Strictly Come Dancing 2025 has announced that their family is expanding as fans rushed to congratulate them

BBC Strictly Come Dancing star Thomas Skinner has revealed his wife Sinead is expecting – four months after he publicly confessed to having an affair with another woman in 2022.

Thomas, who is already father to three children with his wife Sinead, shared the news in an emotional Instagram post this morning – which coincidentally falls on his birthday. The photograph captures a delighted Thomas embracing his wife Sinead as they pose beside a display featuring two balloons.

Standing before the couple are their three children Henry, Roma and Darla – each holding a scan image of their future baby brother or sister.

Thomas, who in September acknowledged having a relationship with Amy-Lucy O’Rourke in 2022, enthused about the announcement in the caption. He posted: “It’s my birthday today… and I’ve got the greatest present in the world. Baby number 4 is on the way.

“I honestly couldn’t ask for anything more. Our little family of five is about to become 6! ! I am so blessed and grateful! Better start looking for a bigger car,” he quipped before continuing: “Can’t wait to meet you, Baby Skinner. Best birthday ever. Mummy, Daddy and Your big brother and sisters are going to love you so so much,” reports the Mirror.

He concluded his message with his signature phrase: “Bosh” accompanied by a red heart emoji. His announcement prompted numerous congratulatory messages in the comments section, with one person writing: “Wohoooooo, s*d sitting next to u lot on a long flight can’t wait to meet baby skinner number 4! xxx”.

Another commented: “Wicked news happy birthday have a blessed day with the family”. A third added: “Congratulations Tom, what a present. Happy Birthday”.

Thomas’ joyful announcement follows several turbulent months for the controversial television personality. It emerged in August that he would be participating in the 2025 series of Strictly Come Dancing, though his involvement attracted criticism from viewers due to his outspoken presence on social media.

The controversy escalated when Thomas grabbed a journalist’s mobile phone and departed abruptly from the press launch for the forthcoming series of the BBC programme weeks later. Shortly afterwards, Thomas publicly acknowledged having a “two-week fling” with beautician Amy-Lucy O’Rourke in 2022 – just after he and Sinead had married.

Amy-Lucy subsequently responded, disputing Thomas’ account and insisted the pair did not have a “fling” – instead maintaining they had conducted an affair lasting three months. Thomas later acknowledged the situation, stating: “It wasn’t difficult for me because I know the mistakes I’ve made in my life, but it was awful for my poor wife to read it all, and that’s why I feel bad… My whole life has been dug up and regurgitated and my poor wife has to read something that she has moved on from..”

All of this occurred before Thomas even stepped onto the Strictly Come Dancing dance floor.

His time on the show was brief, as he was the first celebrity to be voted off. Interest in the star subsided for a few weeks, but then reignited when reports emerged that Thomas was seeking legal counsel over his Strictly elimination.

Thomas claimed that the vote to remove him from Strictly was manipulated, but this was later disproved.
