President Donald Trump had choice words for Bad Bunny‘s historic and star-studded Super Bowl halftime show performance.
After the Puerto Rican singer’s headlining set, Trump took to Truth Social Sunday night to complain about the overall Super Bowl halftime show tradition.
“The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence,” Trump wrote Sunday, Feb. 8.
Trump also seemingly took aim at Bad Bunny, who performed primarily in Spanish, saying: “Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World.” He added: “This ‘Show’ is just a ‘slap in the face’ to our Country.”
Toward the end of his performance, Bad Bunny said “God Bless America” and then named every country in North, South and Latin America, including the United States and Canada. Then, behind Bad Bunny and his dancers, a massive billboard read, “The only thing more powerful than hate is love.”

The rapper’s star-studded show also featured surprise performances by Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin, appearances from Karol G, Cardi B, Jessica Alba, Alix Earle, Pedro Pascal and Young Miko, and a real wedding for a couple of Bad Bunny fans.

The moment Bad Bunny was announced as the Super Bowl headliners, Trump and Republican leaders responded in outrage and a petition to replace the global pop star with country legend George Strait soon drew support. An alternative halftime show by conservative political group Turning Point USA, headlined by Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett, was announced and drew in millions of viewers live, amassing 19 million views on YouTube as of Monday morning.
