COLUMBUS, Ohio — The U.S. Air Force F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team confirmed it will perform at the Columbus Air Show for the first time.
The Columbus Air Show is set for June 19-21 at Rickenbacker International Airport.
The demonstration team has high demand, as the F-35A Lightning II is the only stealth, supersonic, multi-role fighter jet in the world that’s capable of reaching up to 1,200 mph, according to the U.S. Air Force.
As America celebrates its 250th anniversary, the theme for this year’s show is “Celebrate America.” The Columbus Air Show said it’s focusing on Ohio’s contributions to aviation, the history of flight and more.
The F-35 now adds to a powerful line up, which includes the F-4 Phantom, the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Demonstration Team, vintage warbirds and more. The full line up can be seen here.
