Exclusive: A bidding battle for one of the hot buzz titles of the recently completed Sundance Film Festival is near a climax. Deadline hears that Magnolia Pictures is close to closing a 7-figure deal for U.S. rights to I Want Your Sex, the Gregg Araki-directed erotically charged drama that stars Olivia Wilde and Cooper Hoffman. There has been competition for this one, because of the cast, and also the work of New Queer Cinema pioneer filmmaker Araki. These acquisitions will continue to fall into place as the Sundance Film Festival prepares for next year’s move that will bid farewell to Park City, and hello to Boulder, Colorado. We hear the deal will happen today. Stay tuned.
