A twinkle in the sky
What’s more magical than sitting under the stars with loved ones? The Madison School & Community Recreation Planetarium, 201 S. Gammon Road, is hosting a series of stargazing nights to celebrate Valentine’s Day and raise funds for the planetarium. Romance Under the Stars ($17) is a unique date-night option for those 18+ looking to ditch the typical dinner-and-a-movie, while Enchantment Under the Stars ($15) is a family-friendly event for “children and adults to explore the cosmos together.”

Raise some dough
Taste legendary lemon bars, exquisite cakes and bread loaves worthy of a Paul Hollywood handshake at The Great East Side Bakeoff & Community Bake Sale. Held Saturday from 1-4 p.m. at the Goodman Community Center, 149 Waubesa St., this sweet celebration of school spirit invites students, their families and supportive home bakers to show off their signature bakes to raise money for East High activities. Expect local celebrity judges, a cake raffle, a cookie decorating station, a silent auction (baking themed, of course) and more.
FeLion Studios celebrates Valentine’s Day with Pour’n Your Heart Out metal casting Feb. 14.

Heart of stone
For 17 years, FeLion Studios has celebrated Cupid’s favorite day with hot metal. Pour’n Your Heart Out is a community metal-casting event that goes from 10 a.m to 9 p.m. at Garver Feed Mill, 3241 Garver Green. Throughout the day, folks can make their own block carvings, peruse the outdoor sculptural fire exhibit and watch 2,000 pounds of metal be poured in a live iron pour. The event is free to attend, with VIP options and ticketed workshops available.

Thief of joy
New York comedian Gianmarco Soresi, lauded by the New York Times for “marrying the flair and showmanship of a Broadway baby with the ruthless irreverence of a club comic,” stops at the Comedy Club on State following his most recent special, “Thief of Joy.” Tickets cost $42 for his performances at 202 State St. and just a few shows were not sold out as of press time.

All I want
Musician and vocalist Glen Phillips said “All I Want,” one of the most recognizable hits by his band Toad the Wet Sprocket, was about “how fleeting any kind of epiphany is” and the desire to hold onto moments. Share a moment with Phillips, who continues to play with Toad and has released solo albums (he’s got another solo project dropping in 2026) as he performs at the Atwood Music Hall, 1925 Winnebago St. General admissions seats are $25 and front-row spots are $40.
