Eagles Add Sphere Dates After Don Henley Says 2026 'Probably' Last Year

The Eagles could come to an end in 2026, as Don Henley suggested in an interview last week. But if so, the group is still adding shows without making any official declarations about an end run just yet. On Wednesday, the Eagles announced two additional dates for the band’s long-running residency at Sphere in Las Vegas, without any indication that these are necessarily part of a swan song.

The two added Eagles shows at Sphere will take place April 10-11.

Talking with CBS Sunday Morning for an interview that aired this past weekend, Henley said that 2026 “will probably be it” for the group. “I’ve said things like that before, but I feel like we’re getting toward the end and that will be fine, too … I’m OK with that. Because I’d like to spend more time with my family and growing vegetables. There are just lots of other things to do.” He also said that the physical rigors of performing are catching up with them, noting that he will require lower lumbar spine surgery once he has extended time off. “Three of us are 78 years old now, including yours truly … we all have various ailments,” he said.

When asked on CBS Sunday Morning what fans will do if they still want more of the Eagles after this year, Henley said, “I guess they’ll just have to listen to the records.”

One thing fans can take assurance in is that the April 10-11 dates will not be the Eagles’ last shows ever, because they have at least one more show booked after that, a headlining gig May 2 at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

Presale offers for the two newly added Sphere shows will go on sale Feb. 17 at 10 a.m. PT, followed by a general on-sale Feb. 20 at the same time. Signups for the presale offer are now available here. Some tickets will be available even earlier through a Vibee travel package that will go up for sale Friday at 10 a.m. here.

There are already four weekends of shows on sale prior to the April dates, scheduled for Feb. 20-21, Feb. 27-28, March 20-21 and March 27-28.

If the Eagles do return to Sphere for more dates this year, chances are they couldn’t squeeze any more in before September at the earliest.

Most of Sphere’s key weekend dates through July are booked up with other music stars, starting with Phish doing three weekends from April 16 through May 2. Other acts with Sphere engagements scheduled this year — with some of the residencies overlapping — include the Backstreet Boys (currently scheduled to end Feb. 15, though added dates for later in the year are strongly rumored), Illenium (on and off from March 5-April 4), No Doubt (May 6-June 13), Kenny Chesney (June 9-July 11) and Carín León (Sept. 4-13).

But the whole summer appears to be off-limits for Eagles live dates, anyhow, not just because of Sphere having a full house, but because member Vince Gill has booked a rare solo tour, which will start June 18 and run through Aug. 29.

In January, the Eagles’ “Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975)” was officially certified by the RIAA as the bestselling album of all time in the U.S. It became the first album ever to go quadruple-diamond — that is, to be certified for sales of 40 million copies. Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” remains in second place, with certified sales of 34 million, and the Eagles’ “Hotel California” is third, with 28 million in domestic sales.
