ASTORIA– The Astoria Sunday Market (ASM) is still accepting regional vendors (Oregon and Washington), now through Mar.1. The deadline is Sunday Mar. 1 at 5 p.m. Applications are reviewed by a committee and applicants will be notified of their denial or approval in late March. To apply visit: astoriasundaymarket.com/sell-with-us.
The ASM is a maker/grower/producer market looking for artists, artisans, farmers, ranchers, fisherpeople, food producers and other vendors for the 2026 market season which runs every 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Sunday from May 10 until Oct. 11 on 12th Street in downtown Astoria. The first market of the season will be May 10 – Mother’s Day. The market is open rain or shine. Typically featuring up to 150 vendors, locally and regionally made products have been grown, gathered, created or hand crafted. Regional entertainment surrounds a food court.
This year’s seasonal poster for the market was produced by ASM vendor and artist Dianne “D” Valenzuela, owner of “Daydreamn’ D.” She is a one woman multi-media art business who sells block prints, hand painted wearable items and original watercolors as well as custom stamps, logos and hand painted signs. In 2025 she was the artist behind the poster for the Astoria-Warrenton Chamber of Commerce Astoria-Warrenton Crab, Seafood and Wine Festival.
Valenzuela worked back and forth with Tamara Cameron, ASM manager on the design over the course of a few months. “I wanted it to feel cozy, akin to some children’s book illustrator that I love like Richard Scarry,” said Valenzuela. “What makes the Astoria Sunday Market special is all of the people that vend, attend and support and I wanted to try to make sure that everyone could feel represented in one way or another,” she said.
The artist is happy that the ASM opted to support local artists and their art. “I appreciate that the Astoria Sunday Market recognizes real artists and hires them for their poster work as opposed to resorting to the use of AI,” she said.
