Olivia Attwood has described her latest ITV reality programme The Heat as “cooler and edgier” than anything currently on television.
The Heat follows 10 aspiring chefs as they head to Barcelona to work under multi-Michelin Star chef Jean-Christophe Novelli, who is launching a summer restaurant at the prestigious Port Vell Marina whilst searching for the next culinary talent.
But this isn’t your typical cooking contest. Once kitchen service finishes each day, the cameras continue filming, because when contestants are living, working and competing together, there’s no escape from The Heat.
Discussing the most compelling aspect of the new series, presenter Olivia revealed: “The rivalry and the romances that unexpectedly unfold in the evening. We were completely caught off guard when things started to heat up during filming.
“The Heat is in a league of it’s own, everything about it feels so fresh, the contestants, the format, the location, it feels super elevated. It feels cooler and edgier than any other reality shows that are on TV at the moment.”, reports OK!.

“The chefs have such tenacity and confidence, that you can’t help but be captivated by them from the very first episode. It’s the first time I’ve narrated a show in this sense so it was such a treat.
“I got to meet all of the cast, spend some days with them and when I was back in London doing the voiceover I got to watch the whole series, I mean when I say it was the best job ever.
“The show is so far away from the parameters of just a dating show, it’s a reality competition, with a cooking format at the heart of it but things really heat up with all the dating and romances – which happen in a lovely, organic way. It’s so great to see the stories unfold.”

Olivia rose to prominence on the third series of Love Island in 2017 and memorably participated in several dramatic moments during her time in the villa. Nevertheless, the host says she’s more relaxed nowadays.
She continued: “I’m very mellow these days as you will see on the show. I can’t remember the last time I had an argument with anyone so I’m definitely in a better position to be hosting than whipping the chefs into shape because I’m just too laid back.”
The aspiring contestants will soon discover that nobody’s position is guaranteed in this intense culinary competition as they continually compete in an attempt to advance through the kitchen hierarchy.
Advancements, relegations, strategic manoeuvres, dismissals and surprising verdicts throughout the series will undoubtedly keep participants alert.
With Olivia monitoring proceedings closely, providing astute observations, juicy tittle-tattle and the occasional dose of reality, who will emerge victorious and who will be eliminated?
The Heat launches on Tuesday, February 24 at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX
