Mrunal Thakur opens up about chasing dream roles in films
Mrunal Thakur candidly revealed how her courage and persistence in the early days earned her significant film opportunities.
During a recent chat, the 29-year-old actress revealed her first years in the industry were challenging, but she gradually became bold and chased her dream roles.
In an interview with News18, she stated, “After watching Mom, I told Ravi sir, ‘I want to work with you.’ I even asked, ‘Sir, toh hum next kab film kar rahe hai?’ I’ve learned to be vocal, and I’d like to think my courage brought me here.”
She went on to add that taking initiative isn’t new for her, as she recalled approaching Aditya Dhar, whose latest film Dhurandhar impressed her, as her first ever professional pitch.
“Opportunities didn’t come easily. I had to chase them, make sure my face was seen, and say, ‘Sir, main hoon! Kisi na kisi din cast kar lena please.’ I’ll always remember that day,” she shared.
Furthermore, she mentioned that she often contacts people she admires without any hesitation, “When directors see someone genuinely excited for a role, it changes their perspective. They know you’ll give your all.”
Meanwhile, Mrunal’s upcoming film, Do Deewane Seher Mein, tells the story of an arranged marriage where both partners deal with personal challenges and body image concerns.
Notably, the cast of the next box office hit includes Siddhant Chaturvedi, Sandeepa Dhar, Ila Arun, Ayesha Raza, Navin Kaushik, Achint Kaur, Mona Ambegaonkar, and many more. The film will hit theatres on 20 February.
