When trying to access the platform via desktop and mobile, videos wouldn’t appear to load and users were met with the message, “Something went wrong. Try again.” The platform went down at around 5 p.m. Pt, but as of 6:05 p.m. Pt, it appeared to be partially restored.
As a result of the outage, people quickly flooded X to share their frustrations, with #YouTubeDOWN becoming the top trending search. “How am I supposed to eat my dinner without a 40-minute video playing in the background? I’m just sitting here staring at my food like a weirdo. Fix the servers @YouTube,” one user wrote, while another one added, “YouTube is down! What is happening???”
