When The Kelly Clarkson Show premiered in 2019, fans were unsure what to expect.
With Grammy winner Kelly Clarkson headlining her own daytime talk show, folks were shocked by how much they enjoyed seeing her in this element. Between her performing “Kellyoke” covers every day and conversing with some of the day’s biggest celebrities, it felt like you were watching your best friend when tuning in every weekday on NBC.
Even though TKCS has been on the air for the better part of a decade, viewers have been wondering about Kelly’s future as a talk show host. Mainly, they all have one question … and Kelly gave her two cents about it in a way no one would’ve ever expected.
Is The Kelly Clarkson Show ending?
Much to the disappointment of Kelly’s longtime followers, the media personality shared major news on Instagram on February 2. Not only is The Kelly Clarkson Show ending after seven seasons, but she also shared an emotional reason for her career choice.
“I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at TKCS, both in Los Angeles and New York,” she wrote at the time. “There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons … because of all of that, this was not an easy decision—but this season will be my last hosting TKCS.”
The singer assured fans that the world of TV isn’t over for her.
“Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this chapter of our lives,” she added. “This isn’t goodbye. I’ll still be making music, playing shows here and there, and you may catch me on The Voice from time to time … you never know where I might show up next.”
Celebrity friends showed their support for the star’s decision on social media and thanked her for her show’s contribution to television.
“You’re amazing Kelly! Sending you so much love and gratitude,” Kerry Washington wrote in the comments.
“Thank you for always welcoming me with such kindness and for the years of entertainment through your show. You’re amazing and I’m always rooting for you.❤️,” Lacey Chabert penned.
“You are amazing ❤️❤️❤️,” Jenna Dewan added.
Fans expressed their encouragement for the bold move, but were equally shocked by Kelly’s surprise announcement.
“We love you Kelly! Good for you for prioritizing your family ❤️❤️ all of us will be right here supporting and loving everything you do,” one person replied.
“You are one of my favorite talk show hosts. ❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for being your fabulous self ❤️,” another agreed.
“Sending you so much love and light on this next chapter of life! Have thoroughly enjoyed your show and the beautiful moments it created. 🖤✨,” a different follower noted.
Luckily, this won’t be the last time fans will see Kelly on the TV screen. She’s set to be a coach on The Voice season 29 (airing beginning on February 23, 2026 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC), and The Kelly Clarkson Show is still airing through the fall of 2026.
