On Friday, February 21, the GoFundMe page was launched following Dane’s death at 53 on February 19 after a battle with Als. “It is with profound sadness that we share the loss of Eric Dane after a hard-fought battle with Als, leaving behind his devoted wife, Rebecca [Gayheart], and his two teenage daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world,” the campaign’s description began. Although Gayheart filed for divorce in 2018, she withdrew the filing in March 2025 — shortly before Dane announced his Als diagnosis that April.
