The Voice is back for its 29th season this week, but it’s no ordinary season of the singing competition. This one will be officially known as The Voice: Battle of Champions, and it will feature a panel of three judges, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Adam Levine, each of whom has won past seasons of the show. While discussing this season’s changes, Legend explained, “We’re champs. It’s established, we’ve all won the show… We have all done this show quite a lot, we’ve done it together quite a lot, and we’ve just been part of this experience for a long time, including Adam being here for the founding. I think just having veteran Coaches is pretty cool for this season and that’s going to really amp up the competition and make it a little more exciting.”
