Ex-prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has moved out of Royal Lodge in Windsor and is now living at Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, a temporary home while his permanent residence, Marsh Farm, is being renovated. The move, which Buckingham Palace had planned for early 2026, was reportedly accelerated following the latest release of Jeffrey Epstein files. The US Department of Justice made public around three million pages, 180,000 images, and 2,000 videos on January 30.

Pressure has been building on Mountbatten-Windsor to give evidence in the US over his relationship with the convicted paedophile financier, which he has consistently denied. Mountbatten-Windsor was stripped of his royal titles last year.

Despite the move and ongoing scrutiny, one royal expert suggested that life for the former prince will remain largely the same.

Andrew Lownie, author of Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York previously told the Express before Andrew’s arrest:  “He’s not a man prone to great self-reflection, so I think he’ll just carry on as before.

“He’ll think: ‘I see some business opportunities. I’ll continue to have my massages, it’ll just be life as before. I still watch a bit of TV and golf and see my family. Nothing much will change.’”

On Thursday, Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested by Thames Valley Police on suspicion of misconduct in public office, on his 66th birthday.

The arrest came amid reports that he had allegedly shared confidential information with Jeffrey Epstein during his time as a British trade envoy.

He was released under investigation later that evening, and police said searches in Norfolk had concluded. He was pictured in the back of a car being driven away from the police station shortly after 7pm.

Searches at his former address, Royal Lodge in Windsor, are continuing.

Mountbatten-Windsor has consistently and strenuously denied any wrongdoing.
