ALLENTOWN, Pa. — A rock music tour that showcases developing artists will hit the road for its third year and include a stop at Archer Music Hall, it was announced Monday.

The Idobi Radio Summer School Tour will undertake its “junior” (as in third year of high school) year with performances by five “independent artists and bands on the verge of breaking out,” the tour said in a release.

They include Summer School alum Honey Revenge, a pop-rock band fresh off the release of its new single “Hot Commodity,” and tour newcomers South Arcade, Games We Play, Winona Fighter and Chase Petra.

The tour will stop at Archer on July 8.

Tickets, the prices of which were not immediately announced, will go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 27 at the Archer website and at the box office at 939 Hamilton St., Allentown.

Organizers say the tour channels the pop-punk spirit of the Warped Tour — the longest-running touring music festival in North America, which ran each summer 1995-2019 and introduced dozens of bands that had commercial success.

“Carrying the torch of a bygone ethos — a traveling festival focused on artist development, community, ticket affordability and social impact,” a release says of the Idobi Radio Summer School Tour.

“Summer School is as much an incubator for the next generation of headliners as it is an unrivaled experience for the next generation of concertgoers.”

‘Music discovery and community’

The tour will start June 19 in San Diego and close July 25 in Long Beach, California in partnership with the Warped Tour, where each Summer School artist will perform at the festival.

Of its 24 dates, the only other Pennsylvania show will be in McKees Rock, near Pittsburgh.

The Idobi Radio Summer School Tour had its inaugural trek in 2024 and sophomore follow-up last year.

“We wanted to bring something back to the touring landscape that’s been missing for emerging artists as much as the young fans who fuel our local music scenes nationwide,” founders Eric Tobin, Michael Kaminsky and Kevin Lyman said in a release.

“From day one, Summer School has been about music discovery and community. A traveling festival with rotating bills, where you show up early, stay all night, and hopefully leave with a new favorite band — all at a ticket price that’s actually affordable.”

The free Idobi radio’s slogan is The Future of Alternative, and Idobi Network Chief Executive Officer Eddie Barella said in the release its mission has grown the platform “beyond even the biggest terrestrial alternative radio stations.”
