Netflix has finally announced the main cast for Wednesday Season 3, including an acclaimed Stranger Things star. This new major update also confirmed that production on the next installment of the hit supernatural mystery comedy series has begun in Dublin, Ireland.

What Stranger Things star joined the Wednesday Season 3 cast?
Academy Award nominee Winona Ryder is officially joining the cast of Wednesday Season 3, reuniting her with Beetlejuice Beetlejuice co-star Jenna Ortega. This also marks her latest project with long-time collaborator Tim Burton, who is also returning as the show’s director. According to the cast announcement video, Ryder will be playing the character of Tabitha.
In addition, four new cast members are also joining Season 3, including Chris Sarandon ( The Princess Bride) as Balthazar, Noah Taylor (Peaky Blinders) as Cyrus, Oscar Morgan (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms) as Atticus, and Kennedy Moyer (Task, Roofman) as Daisy. Besides Ryder, another Tim Burton muse had also joined the cast in the form of Eva Green (Dark Shadows), who will be portraying Wednesday’s aunt Ophelia.
“It’s our dark delight to fling open Nevermore Academy’s gates once more as we begin production on Season Three. We thank our invincible cast and crew for their continued commitment to doom and gloom,” showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar said in a statement (via Tudum). “To the fans, we appreciate your patience and ravenous online commentary – your twisted theories have inspired nightmares. This season, we welcome new students and new teachers and excavate some long-rotting Addams Family secrets. Don’t say you weren’t warned.”
Burton added, “I’m so excited to be back for Season 3, and it’s great to be reunited with all of the original cast. The addition of some dear friends and past collaborators of mine-Winona, Eva, Chris, Noah…makes this season extra special. I feel very lucky.”
Wednesday is executive-produced and created by Gough and Millar, based on the characters of cartoonist Charles Addams. The new Season 3 cast members will be joining the show’s returning cast led by Ortega as Wednesday, Emma Myers as Enid, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Victor Dorobantu as Thing, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams, Hunter Doohan as Tyler, Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester, Joy Sunday as Bianca, Moosa Mostafa as Eugene, Georgie Farmer as Ajax, Evie Templeton as Agnes, Joanna Lumley as Grandmama, Billie Piper as Isadora Capri, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as Sheriff Ritchie Santiago.
