Princess Anne was represented by her ex-boyfriend this week in a move that not many expected. With The Princess Royal being a very hardworking royal, it comes as no surprise that she isn’t always available to attend every event in the calendar.
While she may try her best, her schedule means that this is not always possible. This was especially the case this week when Anne could not attend a memorial service for Field Marshal Lord Guthrie at the Guards’ Chapel in London.
However, while Anne herself could not attend the service, her ex-boyfriend did attend and even represented her.
The pair have remained good friends, with Andrew having occasionally represented the King’s sister before.
While he may be the ex-husband of Queen Camilla, it is believed Andrew still gets on well with Camilla and Anne.
This is because Anne was bound to the Church of England, as reported by the Daily Mail.
It is believed Anne and Andrew’s relationship ended amicably, with Andrew then going on to marry Queen Camilla – before she was a royal – and Anne going on to marry her first husband, Mark Phillips.
