*** NO REPRODUCTION FEE *** DUBLIN : 26/2/2026 : Dublin Airport strikes a chord with new music wall celebrating Ireland’s greatest artists. Dublin Airport is turning up the volume on its passenger welcome with the unveiling of a new music wall in Terminal 1, celebrating some of Ireland’s most iconic performers. Located in the arrivals corridor of Pier 2 in Terminal 1, the vibrant installation features striking images of 11 legendary Irish acts, including U2, Thin Lizzy, The Cranberries, Christy Moore and Sinéad O’Connor. The wall was officially opened this week by Graham Knox, Danny O’Reilly and Conor Egan from The Coronas, who also feature in the display. But this is more than just a photo opportunity. Newly installed speakers mean passengers are greeted by the sound as well as the sight of Ireland’s musical greats - creating a fitting soundtrack to their arrival. LED lighting and spotlights add to the atmosphere, transforming what was once a blank corridor into a celebration of Irish creativity. According to Gary McLean, Managing Director of Dublin Airport: “Ireland is known around the world for its music, and we wanted to reflect that as soon as passengers arrive into the country. As Ireland’s main gateway, we pride ourselves on offering a warm and memorable welcome and this installation really hits the right note. The reaction has been fantastic, with many passengers stopping for selfies beside their favourite acts. So far, Sinéad O’Connor and U2 are proving especially popular and there was a great buzz around with the Coronas here to officially unveil the new installation." Dublin Airport is planning to introduce more sense of place installations across the terminals, shining a spotlight on other areas where Ireland excels, including sport and the arts. The wall of fame is now in place at Terminal 1 of the busy airport. It is located in the arrivals corridor of Pier 2 in Terminal 1, meaning it is possible for all passengers to see it.

The installation features striking images of 11 legendary Irish acts, including U2, Thin Lizzy, The Cranberries, Christy Moore and Sinéad O’Connor.

The wall was officially opened this week by Conor Egan, Danny O’Reilly and Graham Knox from The Coronas, who also feature in the display.

But some fans of Irish music are upset over artists missing from the wall. Singer-songwriter Rory Gallagher, widely considered Ireland’s first rock star, does not feature on the installation.

One social media user said: “Justice for Rory Gallagher!! One of Ireland’s greatest ever and doesn’t get a quarter of the recognition he should get in the country.”

Another said: “Rory Gallagher should be on it!” And another said: “Lets get Rory Gallagher on there. Hear a bit of million miles away.”

Social media users also complained that the Wolfe Tones, Aslan, The Saw Doctors, Chris de Burgh, Clannad and Dermot Kennedy are missing from the wall of fame.
