The Scratch have returned with new new single “Gladrags,” the track, is the latest preview of their forthcoming album Pull Like A Dog, dropping March 13th via Sony Music Ireland/Music For Nations. “Gladrags” is the follow-up to “Pull Like A Dog” and “Pullin’ Teeth” ft. Dropkick Murphy’s Kevin Rheault – the first two singles to preview Pull Like A Dog. Following the release of Pull Like A Dog, the band will embark on a North American headline tour this May before returning home to perform their biggest Irish headline show to date at Dublin’s Iveagh Gardens this summer.
Along with the new track, The Scratch have unveiled a new music video shot in the back room of a billiard club. Directed by Colin Peppard, the visual sees the band fully suited-up as professional players as they take on an opponent obsessively chasing perfection.
Conor (guitar, backing vocals) came up with the guitar riff for “Gladrags” while listening to an interview with Tyler, the Creator, while lyrically, Lango (cajon, lead vocals) said: “Gladrags” is about how being inattentive can land me in hot water, which ironically makes me wander further into my thoughts, resulting in this perpetual cycle of inattentiveness. But it’s also about seeing it in others and observing how they try to cover it up or deal with it.”
